Operating theaters

Firstly : Major operational theaters

These are four theaters in the fourth floor of the main building. Two theaters are

located in the new building. They were constructed according to the modern

scientific and design instructions. They were provided with the most modern

techniques to be used for the first time in Iraq. These techniques are air filtrations

and air-conditioning system ( laminar flow) which includes Hepa germicidal

filters, central gas soaking system , lightening and fire extinguish systems.

UPS of 40 KVA is also available to sustain the continuity of power supply in

wards for one hour period.

The operation departments is also included two main sophisticated recovery

units to take care of number of patients at the same time.

Secondly : Gynecological and obstetrics theaters :

1- Major obstetric theater

Based in the ground floor of the main building in obstetric department . It is

specialized only for caesarean sections.

2- Delivery theater :

Completely prepared for normal vaginal deliveries.

3-Minor operating theater :

Thirdly : cardiac and blood vessels catheterization theater :

Based in the 3rd floor of the new building.

6- Blood Bank.

7- Pharmacy unit : is delivering its services on 24 hour

basis for in- and outpatients. new rare departments have taken place. These departments includes modern curative and diagnostic equipments for several rebellious cases , which wont be treated by the local and classical techniques.

These departments are :

A – Lasik unit :

This is a highly specialized sophisticated unit for ophthalmic diseases. It includes

1- Lasik equipment :

One of the most modern equipments, Nidek style, model 2008 used for sight correction and to treat refractive errors.

2- Collagen Gross Link '' C3R'' :

This is the most modern techniques. It is available for the first time in Iraq , used for treating conical cornea by using Riboflavin with ultraviolet ray. This is useful only for mild to moderate cases.

B- Cardiac catheterization unit:

This is a completed operational theater, provided with a modern heart and vessel catheterization equipment. This could be used for diagnosis and treating thrombosis and stenosis in blood vessels.
